This pottery class is located in a garage studio in Orange County, Laguna Niguel. The age requirement is 5. 8+ for group classes and 6+ for private.Classes meet weekly for 1.5 hours and enrollment is monthly. We will focus on handbuilding, sculpting, and 'throwing' on the potter's wheel. This is an authentic ceramics art class with a calm and peaceful atmosphere, and we use stoneware clay that is glazed and fired in a kiln at 2,200 degrees. There will be instruction in professional techniques, and you will be amazed at what your students will create.My goal is for each student to learn skills and build confidence, and two projects will be completed per class, including a sculpted, hand-built or wheel-thrown piece. Students will take turns on the wheel with two students having a turn every week, so for a class of 6 students you will have a turn about every 3 weeks. If you would like more time on the wheel, you will need to enroll in a private class.All project are microwave and dishwasher safe, and they are treasures to keep!
