Within Reach has been in business for over 20 years! Within Reach is an activity driven learning center that focuses on reading and writing classes in a fun environment. We have a ton of fun while learning. Classes are taught in small groups with no more than 6 kids per class. Each class is personalized to specific skill levels. Kids come twice a week for an hour each time. We can help motivate kids, improve confidence, catch up, or accelerate kids. I would love to help your child make this year more successful. It is our motivation. As a child, I struggled through school. No one recognized what was happening, and no one knew how to get me back on track. We tried tutoring and learning centers without success. They were boring, dark, and depressing. They felt like a punishment. This is the very reason I created Within Reach! ·Within Reach is bright and inviting, and happy! We get on the floor with the kids and play educational games. We teach in small groups of kids at similar levels (no more than 6 kids per group). It helps us make the class fun, builds social skills, encourages a little bit of healthy competition, but it also gives us time to work with children on a one-on-one basis and individualize how we teach each student. ·Everything is activity driven in my class. What that means is, at the beginning of the hour, I teach a small skill. The rest of the hour, I reinforce that one skill through activities. We play bingo, go fish, hangman, jeopardy, etc. Instruction is happening the whole hour, except the kids don't really realize it because they are having fun! We take a multi-sensory approach. ·Throughout the hour, they will be writing, reading, listening, and teaching the sound they learned for the day. This way they are really mastering the skill. We work on writing everyday (sentence structure, details, grammar, neatness, punctuation, etc). Once I feel like they have mastered the skill, they are given a new book or story that directly correlates to the skill we learned for the day. We will focus on comprehension, paragraph reading, and vocabulary too. ·The key is to make it fun and enjoyable! Check out our website for pictures of just some of the fun things we do: https://www.withinreachlearningcenter.com/funtimes Scheduling: ·Our program is 2x a week (either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday) for an hour each time. Classes are during the hours of: 1:30-6:30. Students are grouped together based on their skill level. So, I do not have a ""4th grade"" class for example. They are all scheduled for classes based on their individual skill levels. That way they are with kids their level, grow in confidence, and get more personalized attention. What makes us different? ·The small group environment is super helpful for several reasons (versus one-on-one tutoring): 1. It takes the pressure off of a child who is struggling. (Imagine you are struggling and then have a one-on-one tutor. It is a lot of pressure and not great for confidence!) 2. Being with other kids at their same level also improves confidence quickly. 3. Being within a small group is also so fun and they learn from each other! And when it's fun, they will want to come. ·I really pride my program on being not a corporate learning center. I am really able to tailor the program to each child's needs. So, if at any time you feel like you need more or less of something, please let me know, and I will tailor class around your child. For example, each child in class gets a different book or homework based on what that child needs at the moment. We have the flexibility to personalize instruction for each child. ·The key to success is communication with me. Also, I can meet with your child's teacher and partner with them and make sure we are all working on the same page.
